Winding down after a day of tubing at Mt. Hood. We had a lot of fun and everyone is tuckered out. We went with a few of the guys from Scott's unit and their wives and the kids. The forecast said it would be warm near the summit but we weren't expecting 60 degrees! When we got to the sno-park and got the kids suited up they were already complaining of being hot lol. We went to a smaller sno-park a little further up the mountain in hopes it wouldn't be too busy and we were right. There was plenty of room and the tube runs were nice and groomed. The last time we took the kids sledding Kason and Quinn hated it. It was snowing pretty hard that day and they were wet and cold. this time around they had a blast. By the end of the day Quinn was getting in her tube by herself and going down the big hills like a pro.
The drive up to mountain is beautiful, sometimes it's hard for me to believe that I actually live in a place like this. Mountains and National Forests > flat land and corn fields, but I do still love me some Indiana.
As i'm typing i'm listening to Kegan coo and squeal upstairs in his sleeper. I thought he was tired so we laid down for our final feed of the night but within 3 minutes he bit me about 6 times so I took a break. I know he has teeth coming in but i'm not loving being a human teether.
I skipped my cross-training today, I figured lugging children and tubes up and down hills all day was a good enough work out.
Tomorrow is my first long run of my training program. My knees feel better today; I really hope they can hold out for 4 miles. Fingers crossed people!
A few pictures from our drive up to Mt. Hood. It was a beautiful sunny day!
