I'm not quite sure what to title this post. I guess "Thank You" would suffice.
Deciding to become a runner was not something that I took lightly. I admire those people who go out and run 6, 10, 12 miles like it's nothing. They are strong and they are my inspiration.
I used to run casually, never more than 3 miles. I didn't like it, in fact I pretty much hated it. I ran a 5K race and it wasn't that exciting to me. When I got pregnant with Kegan I stopped running and I really never planned on getting back into it.
Fast forward to 3 months ago.
My friend Crystal is amazing. She struggled with health issues and overcame them. She ran a marathon during a freaking blizzard. She's more badass than I could ever dream to be. She's the one who motivated me to lace up shoes and get back out there again.
I don't consider myself a "runner" yet. I don't think I ever will but I love to read other peoples stories and their journey into the running world.
This post is just a way of saying thank you to all the runners out there that inspire me to get out there and run. To train like a mother and run my first half-marathon. To be healthy for my children and set an example for them. To say "hey, I just ran 10 miles, what did you do today?"
I look forward to updating this blog with my accomplishments in the next few weeks and I hope that I can inspire someone to get out there and just run.
I don't know if my post went through. To summarize, you rock! Think of all those that you are inspiring. You are a bad ass mother runner.
ReplyDeleteI see and feel your passion for running. Keep it up friend. I love hearing your progress.
