6 Miles

I just did that, 6 miles. I have never run that far before in my life. It's such an accomplishing feeling to do something that you never thought you could do. And you know the best part? It was easy. No easy in the sense that I could go out and do it again no problem but easy in that I never hit that "wall", or thought that I couldn't finish. I took a different route than I normally do and i'm glad that I did. I had some challenging hills to go up but with every hill I know that it's only making me stronger. Today was the first time I wore my hydration belt too. I had to stop a few times to adjust it but once I got it snug enough I didn't bounce or ride up and I was really thankful for my Pink Lemonade Zipfizz around the 4.5 mile mark. It gave me just enough boost to finish strong.

When I woke up this morning I didn't want to run, at all. I wanted to sit on my ass and play Skyrim and Call of Duty with my husband but I got dressed and laced up my shoes and i'm so glad that I did.

It's a gorgeous day here today. The sun is shining, the trees are budding and the flowers are blooming. Spring time out here is pretty awesome.

Yesterday we took the kids to Clackamas Aquatic Park with a few friends of ours. Kason cried the whole way there because he didn't want to swim but as soon as he saw the inner tubes and slides it was game on. Going on a Saturday afternoon probably wasn't the best idea but we made our way to the lap pool which was empty (for the most part) and the kids swam their little hearts out. Gavin was jumping in all by himself and Kason was doggy paddling like a pro. Quinn still isn't a fan of deep water but she enjoyed the kiddie pool. Kegan is most definitely a water baby, as soon as his little feet hit that water he was kicking and splashing. Maybe that has something to do with the fact he was born into the water? :)

After swimming we went back to Dusty and Kayla's for pizza. I was careful with how many pieces I had knowing that I had to run the next day but Papa Murphy's Chicken Alfredo Pizza is ridonkulously good. I had a salad to offset the 3 pieces I had...lol

Classes start back up Monday, yay (insert sarcasm) and Kason's Birthday (the 8th) and Kegan turns 6 months old. On top of Easter activities and 18 miles next week, we're going to be busy! Oh and Scott goes on leave for a week the beginning of the month. I can't wait to have him home for awhile. I'm hoping to hit up the zoo, children's museum and maybe the Saturday Market in downtown while we have him home.

Here are some progress pictures. The one on the left was 3 months after I had Kegan and 15lbs heavier. The one on the right is today.

After my run. The red maple in our front yard is blooming.

Kegan loves Indy. The feeling is mutual.

Just a precaution. I had some soreness in my achilles.

This is a tired baby who refuses to sleep.

This is one of the series of hills that I run. This one is right at the 3 mile point. I hate it but I know it's good for me.
